David R. Gray, Jr.

David R. Gray, Jr., received his B.A. in Philosophy from the College of Charleston in 1998 and his J.D. from Valparaiso University in 2002. He is licensed in Illinois and is admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States.

 

He began his legal career in Chicago as staff attorney for a private real estate investment company, handling real estate acquisitions and dispositions, tax deeds, foreclosures, title, landlord-tenant matters, and related litigation.  He founded Gray Law Offices, Ltd., in 2014, and has maintained a civil practice since 2002.  He later served as general counsel to a mid-market tax-sale investment company, where he was lead counsel in tax-deed petitions and related proceedings and supervised real estate closings.

 

The firm represents buyers, sellers, landlords, property owners, and, in separate matters, tax buyers.  The Firm never represents both owners and tax buyers on the same case.  When a matter calls for another specialty, or when the firm cannot take the case, clients may be referred to lawyers in a trusted network.  Those lawyers are not members of this firm.  Referrals are discussed with you first.  The firm does not accept every consultation request.

 

David Gray is the firm’s lawyer.  He has argued and prevailed before the Illinois Supreme Court and has filed a petition for certiorari in the Supreme Court of the United States.  He also consults as a subject matter expert on Illinois real estate tax delinquency issues.
